EXPERIENCE

PRODUCER/DIRECTOR, LAST WAVE FILM — 2007-PRESENT

Last Wave Film is a tight crew of filmmakers. We produce a ton of narrative, documentary, and commercial videos. Along with all the features & shorts our regular clients include: Adobe, Salesforce, Northeastern University, Siemens, SAP, & countless pr companies with names like Bite & Ozone, etc., ad infinitum.

DIRECTOR, MEANS OF PRODUCTION — 2018-PRESENT

Means of Production is the media cooperative that produced the viral video that put congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez on the map. I direct political campaign videos for them on a project basis. https://means.media/

DIRECTOR/FILM INSTRUCTOR, SHELTON STUDIOS — 2011-CURRENT

Shelton Studios is a proper theatre company & school here in SF. I’m their film educator and resident film director. I teach quarterly there and direct on a project basis. The Shelton community is a creative family for me & my primary resource for talent.

EDITOR, STUDIO B — 2009-2010

Studio B is a Berkeley based production company founded by the cinematographer for the Real World. I cut my teeth there as an editor & it was my gateway from being a passionate DIY filmmaker to learning the business of online video production.

Act III, Scene 1 (2010) – Director.

  • Act III, Scene 1 is a modern reworking of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. It abstracts, embellishes, and condenses original elements of Hamlet, studying current domestic conditions by exploring dynamics between Prince Hamlet and Lady Ophelia. B&W HD. 25 minutes.

  • Awarded Best Cinematography at the 10th City Shorts Festival (2010).

You Have To Understand This Hurts Us Too (2008) – Director.

  • You Have To Understand This Hurts Us Too documents and attempts to understand the creative process of a collage artist, synthesizing his arrangement of still images with the “moving” images of intervolometer photography. B&W & Color 16mm reversal film. 5 minutes.

  • Selected as part of the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive Experimental Film Festival (2009).

Attachment Disorder (2008) – Writer/Director.

  • Attachment Disorder is a surrealistic opus about a troubled man who wakes to find himself handcuffed and lost in a purgatory constructed of his own unresolved psychic detritus. B&W & Color DV. 27 minutes.
